Missy GaffneyMissy G. – Owner/Esthetician

After High School Missy attended The University of Rhode Island and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Textiles, Merchandising and Design. She then pursued a career in the garment industry in New York City. Years later, she realized her passion for Esthetics and decided to enroll at The Catherine Hinds Institute where she graduated with a certificate in Advanced Esthetics. Missy practiced Esthetics for over twelve years and in 2008, she opened The Skin & Body Spa. She is currently the Spa Director, but also takes clients three days a week. She has a passion for helping clients achieve their goals and loves building relationships with them. She offers facials, chemical peels, micro-needling, cryo-therapy, waxing, threading, tinting and makeup. In November of 2015, Missy and her husband Sean, opened The Hair Company by The Skin & Body Spa right next door to the spa. It was a natural progression for them as many spa clients were asking for hair services. They are so proud to employ some of the bests Hair Stylists, Estheticians, Nail Technicians and Massage Therapists in the industry. They strive not only to exceed expectations with their hair and beauty services, but with their client relationships as well.

Sean GaffneySean G. – Salon Director/Owner

Sean brings over 20 years of business operations, management, and marketing experience to both the Salon and the Spa. While in college he worked as a Computer Operations Specialist and later became a leading Sales Executive selling corporate software solutions. He is a graduate from the University of Massachusetts (Lowell) with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a major in Management Information Systems.

After excelling as a Sales Executive for several high tech companies Sean later started Mobility Software as the CEO and then IMSYS Corporation as the VP of Sales. During his high tech career he was also recruited to implement a growth strategy plan for nSight as the VP of Sales. Sean’s first and foremost rule of building a successful business starts with customer satisfaction and appreciation.

He also serves his home town community as a Volunteer/Call Firefighter. Having graduated from the NH Fire Academy first in 2010 and again in 2012, he continues to improve his skills as a First Responder.

Steven F.Steven F. – Salon & Spa Manager

Steven offers more than 20 years of management, customer service and leadership experience to The Skin & Body Spa and The Hair Company. After completing the Hospitality Management program at Johnson and Wales University, he went right into the workforce within the industry at a 5-star hotel & resort just outside of NYC. After several years working in the hotel industry, he branched out to explore other industries and areas of interest to him. He explored positions in retail, event management and even as a manager at a Starbucks. The salon & spa industry became an opportunity that was never considered but eventually proved to be the exact career change he needed and truly loved. His simple goals are to provide excellent customer service, not only to guests but the entire team working with him. Steven’s focus is always to make sure guests receive the best experience possible. Leading by example, Steven coaches his team to understand their client’s needs in order to give them the best service possible. One thing that has always allowed him to be a true leader with every team he has worked with is that he too is a guest and always puts himself in your shoes to fully understand what you need, want and expect. The reputation within not just the industry, but the community, is one of high standards, respect and loyalty in everything he does. Combined with his creative approach on making the salon & spa’s operations run smoothly and efficiently, he strives to empower the entire team to exceed expectations. Steven has worked in the community with non-profit organizations like: Habitat for Humanity, Breast Cancer Foundation, Food Bank of RI, Clean Water Fund of Massachusetts, Hello Gorgeous and American Parkinson’s Disease Association to name just a few.

Phyllis G. – Stylist

Phyllis has been a stylist for 29 years and started her career on Boston’s Newbury Street and was trained by Diego’s top stylists. She learned and practiced Pyrametrics hair cutting during her 15 year career at John Dellaria Salon. Phyllis is also certified in Vidal Sasson dry cutting and finishing and also has color certifications from Redken, Framesi and Wella. She enjoys being in the hair industry because when she’s at work she has a lot of fun and it truly doesn’t feel like work. She loves to put a smile on her client’s face and change their mood with a great service. When she’s not at work, Phyllis loves spending time at home with her husband, family and 2 dogs. She loves reading, gardening and spending time on Cape Cod during the summer.

Alexann T. – Stylist

Alexann is a 2016 graduate from Continental Beauty Academy. She started a career in the beauty industry after having a strong passion for doing her friends and family’s hair growing up. She has a talent for everything hair, but particularly loves foiling blondes. Alexann loves to get to know her client’s and do a proper consultation to make sure they get what they are looking for. Seeing her clients happy at the end of their hair service is what makes her job worthwhile. When Alexann isn’t at work she loves spending time with her 7 year old son who is her greatest joy!

Jen A. – Stylist

Jen is a Continental Academie of Hair Design graduate and offers over 5 years’ experience in the beauty industry. She started this career to explore her creative side and to help make people feel more confident in themselves. Attention to detail, listening to clients’ needs and using her professional skills is such a rewarding way to boost confidence, everyone knows there is nothing better than a great haircut and color! Jen loves all hair but especially performing blowouts, vivid colors, and loves foiling all the bombshell blondes! She loves to get to know her clients, and does a thorough consultation to achieve the best plan to meet their needs and wants. Jen’s goal is to make all clients happy and to feel beautiful! When she is not focusing on her career she loves to ATV in the mountains with friends, and spend time on the lake with her family.

Jessica S. – Stylist

Jessica Standifer has been a Stylist for over thirty years. While she is new to The Hair Company, she brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience.  She has developed her artistry with a variety of education classes, seminars and also worked for Redken NYC as an educator and colorist.  Jessica has a passion for creating looks using color and cutting techniques that can be tailored for each client.  She is currently certified as a colorist with All-Nutrient, Hair Color Academy and certified in Brazilian Blowout.  Her dedication and love for the industry shows in everything she does because she knows that keeping educated, updated and current is what clients love.
During her travels with her husband of 21 years she has found living in New England has been one of her favorite places to live.  From the beautiful winters and being able to get to the ocean one day and the mountains the next (sometimes even in the same day). She has loved being able to raise their two children and continue to watch them grow into young adults.   On her days off you can find Jessica Skiing, hiking, practicing yoga, and rollerblading.

Casey – Stylist

Casey graduated from Michael’s School of Hair Design and Esthetics in 2012. She decided to become a hairstylist because she loves making people feel beautiful and empowered. Casey feels there is nothing better than how an amazing haircut, style, blow-dry, and/or professional hair color service can make you feel. She exceeds at her craft with all of the hair services she offers but particularly loves to do foils. Casey offers both fun and natural-looking color services and blowouts that “wow” her clients. She feels it is important that her clients can duplicate styling at home by educating them with tips and tricks. She also feels very strongly about educating them on the professional home care products we sell so they can achieve a similar look at home to what she created for them in the salon. When she is not busy at work, Casey likes to spend time with her family & friends taking day trips exploring New England.  She also loves cooking, spending time with her dog, and has recently discovered a newfound passion for gardening.
